Virgin Media TV 360 requires subscribing to their proprietary cable broadband network with mandatory hardware leases, pushing full sports bundles past €95 monthly. CelticStream operates over any broadband provider (SIRO, Eir, Vodafone, or Virgin) for €84.99 per year without contractual bundle dependencies.
- Virgin Media TV 360 requires an active Virgin Media broadband subscription.
- Cancelling Virgin TV while keeping broadband frees your television setup.

- CelticStream functions identically across any Irish high-speed internet network.
Virgin Media Ireland (formerly UPC and Cablelink) holds a strong presence across Irish cities and large towns, delivering broadband and television services through its hybrid-fiber coaxial and full fiber networks.
While Virgin’s TV 360 set-top box features voice search and fast channel changes, it forces customers into tightly bundled packages. Households must maintain Virgin Media broadband to access television services, limiting consumer flexibility.

The Bundle Trap: Why Virgin Media TV Gets Expensive
Virgin Media markets television as an add-on to high-speed broadband. However, adding premium sports and entertainment channels rapidly increases the monthly invoice:
- Broadband & TV 360 Base Tier: €65.00 to €85.00 / month
- Sports Add-on (Sky Sports & TNT Sports): €35.00 to €45.00 / month
- Multi-room Mini Box: €10.00 / month per extra room
- Annual Total with Full Sports: €1,140 to €1,400 per year
When promotional discount periods conclude after 12 months, prices escalate sharply, forcing customers into tedious annual contract renegotiations.

The most cost-effective television setup for Irish households in Virgin Media service areas is straightforward:

- Cancel the TV 360 bundle and return the proprietary rented set-top boxes.
- Plug an Amazon Fire TV Stick into your television and activate CelticStream.
This strategy preserves your high-speed internet speed while saving over €1,000 every year on television subscription costs.
